Pseudotropheus sp. "Polit" is a striking cichlid from Lake Malawi, prized by aquarists for its vibrant coloration and engaging personality. Males display bold blue and yellow markings, while females show more subdued tones. These fish are moderately aggressive and territorial, making them best suited for established aquariums with adequate space and hiding spots.

They thrive in hard, alkaline water with temperatures between 24–26°C and appreciate rock formations that mimic their natural habitat. Feed a varied diet of quality cichlid pellets, spirulina, and occasional live foods to maintain their health and color intensity. Minimum tank size of 200 liters is recommended for a small group or breeding pair.
